Psychotherapy Practicum Student
My name is Serafina, and I am currently completing the practicum portion of my Masters in Counselling Psychology. I am qualified to practice onsite under the clinical supervision of an approved supervisor. Always intrigued by the human mind and behaviour, I completed a BA in psychology at the University of Windsor prior to receiving my Masters. I have worked in a variety of environments focused on helping others (retirement home, nonprofit, and childcare). Through my work in childcare, I have gained the knowledge and skills to aid in the social and emotional development of individuals. I am passionate about helping others by learning skills and strategies to utilize in the therapeutic process. I strive to assist in shifting perspectives, encouraging clients to practice coping mechanisms to implement in their daily lives, and support them on their healing journey.
I approach the therapeutic experience with compassion and an open mind, using a comprehensive approach in order to foster the development of a trusting relationship. I am most interested in helping clients ages 10+ faced with challenges of anxiety, depression, stress, trust issues and ADHD, as well as other mental health challenges.
